From Colombia with love

Our handcrafted bags, known as Mochilas, are intricately woven by the talented female members of the indigenous Kankuamo tribe in Colombia, using fique grass, a natural fiber from local plants. We work directly with Wayuu artisans to ensure each piece embodies their rich cultural heritage.

The creation of these unique bags takes between 10 to 30 days, involving the preparation of raw materials, spinning, dyeing with natural plants, weaving, and decorating. Each La Picaza piece reflects a vibrant mix of craftsmanship and modern design, reinforcing our commitment to slow, meaningful fashion.
